ROSALIE O’TOOLE
JULY 5, 1929 – MARCH 16, 1973
When I was 15 years old my beautiful mother passed away after losing her battle with breast cancer. Before she died she spent many evenings with me on my purple satin comforter. In this great time of sadness, Rosalie Spoke.
This book is my tribute to my wise mother. It has taken nearly four decades for me to have the strength to unpack the boxes and open the journals of 15 year old me and read the words I recorded as my mother tried to prepare me for her death and my life without her guidance. As I reflect on my life I realize that I took much of what she said about life, love, and happiness to form the basis of my moral compass, others I only wish I had incorporated sooner. I share these lessons with you, those fighting this disease and those left behind, with the hope that her words give you comfort and strength.
Rosalie’s Daughter.
